  In the November 2016 Watchtower there was new light on Babylons fall. According to the study article Babylon began losing its grip when Gutenberg invented the printing press. This is what woke my husband up and was the last meeting we ever went to after over 40 years of super Uber service. He said show me where the Bible refers to the Gutenberg press.

  Then the next article has the same ole blah blah blah about the persecution after the war and of course Malachi were they were chosen and now they are free. Thank goodness for this article. I was awake and this was the final straw for him.

  at a very recent circuit assembly (usa), the accounts overseer gave the typical accounts report for the ca in the early afternoon.

  there were 2100 people at the assembly.

  I think they had been borrowing against the buildings for years and had to pay back the loans. The buildings were sold and the bank collected the money. That is my 2 cents worth.

  That is what I thought too and is the thing that woke me up. I just second guess myself especially after you believed a lie for so long. The overlapping generation should have made us all walk out. I told my husband I will never be able to conduct a Bible study because I cannot teach that. But it didn’t make me leave. The anti typical thing made me do research if Jerusalem was destroyed in 607. However if we don’t believe in typical anti typical this teaching should have been flushed.

  Watchtower comes along and changes the typical anti typical beliefs and with a stroke of the pen eliminates years of books and teachings. Why does this not apply to 1914? Isn’t that a typical anti typical prophecy? There is the first fulfillment with Nebuchadnezzar and then the second with Jesus beginning his reign in 1914. What am I missing?

  Thank you for sharing this. I have downloaded a copy on my computer. Their outright lies resulting in the death of so many is unforgivable. I am surprised there have not been lawsuits against the society for the misrepresentation. They really need to be exposed.

  i had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.

  i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.

  however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?

  I wanted to know why the circuit assemblies cost so many thousands of dollars. It is ridiculous the money they ask for. I did a search and found Critical Thinker. I still enjoy his videos.

  Welcome!! I was in 43 years. Thank goodness we woke up in time to live the years we have left outside the cult. I have never been happier. Waiting for your story. In my opinion it should be easy for the older ones to wake up. We have seen lots of changes and truth doesn't change. Best wishes for you!

  i know many here do not believe in anything biblical but i’m curious as to whether you believe anyone is in heaven?

  have you ever found out that your "buddies" from the kingdom hall went out to have fun and did not invite you?

  We did not receive many invitations, however my husband was always inviting someone over our house for dinner. It was really a lot of work for me and of course they never in turn invite you to their house.

  I will never forget - we were invited over for dinner! Couldn't believe it. However, they received a phone call while we were there from another couple in the Hall and we were asked to leave, they had a better offer!! I would never do that to someone. It shows their lack of manners and did not care about our feelings.
